COMEX Silver Inventory Update 12/1

Traders at monitor-filled desks beneath a large screen showing a rising silver chart labeled SILVER NEP with $58 price.

For readers landing here from a search: registered silver is metal actually available for COMEX delivery. Eligible sits in the same vaults but is NOT for sale at any listed price. So when 321,140 oz gets reclassified from CNT’s registered pile to eligible, that’s supply quietly leaving the delivery pool without a single ounce moving.

And the timing here mattered. This update landed days after the wildest Thanksgiving week in COMEX history: the CME halted ALL futures trading for 10 hours (a “cooling issue,” they said) right as silver broke to record highs, and registered inventories were bleeding toward the 137.9 million oz you see above. What followed is now the record: the squeeze that carried silver from the 60s to $121 by late January.

We track these vault reports daily because the registered number is the closest thing this market has to a fuel gauge. Bookmark this series and watch it with us.
