Who we are
The SilverTrade Insider publishes precious-metals market news and long-form interviews with named analysts, miners and fund managers. SilverTrade is affiliated with SD Bullion, a precious-metals retailer, and SD Depository, a precious-metals storage company. Some of our contributors hold roles at affiliated companies, and our founders built those businesses.
What we publish, and what we do not
We report market views, including views we find persuasive, and our contributors sometimes offer a view of their own — when they do, it is presented as opinion. We do not recommend securities, and nothing we publish is investment advice.
Attribution
A forecast or a price target belongs to the person making it, and we present it as theirs. “Morgan: Silver Headed to $150” is our register; the unattributed version is not. Interviews are reported in the third person, and a factual claim about a named institution should come with a source — or be presented as the speaker’s opinion.
Conflicts of interest
Our affiliated businesses earn money when people buy and store precious metals. That is a real interest in the subject we cover, and we would rather name it than have a reader discover it. Our articles carry a disclosure block stating the affiliation, and opinions expressed by contributors and interviewees are their own.
Guest affiliations
Our guests frequently hold positions in, or roles at, companies and assets they discuss — a fund manager talking about miners usually owns some. Where we know of such an affiliation, we aim to say so in the piece.
Sponsored and paid content
No coverage on this site has been paid, sponsored or arranged to date. If we ever publish sponsored coverage, it will be labeled conspicuously — a reader should never have to guess whether a piece was paid for.
Personal positions
A contributor writing about a security or company in which they hold a position is expected to say so in the piece.
Corrections
When we get a fact wrong, we correct the article and mark the correction on the post with the date it was made. How to request one, and what we do and do not correct, is set out on our Corrections page.
