COMEX SILVER OPEN INTEREST FINALLY BOUNCES AFTER SETTING MULTI-DECADE LOWS

COMEX Silver OI FINALLY increased Friday, closing at 98,443 contracts Friday, a gain of 2,444 contracts after bottoming at 95,999 on Thursday- the lowest OI in COMEX Silver since at least 2008.


 
The May contract saw a decline of 247, closing at 1,352 contract, while the June, July, August, & September all saw an increase in Open Interest.
 
The Front Month of July gained 2,118 to close at 74,536, and the following delivery month of September gained 233 to close at 11,263.
 
Silver’s rally to $77 Friday triggered a return of spec money to the market, although Open Interest levels remain below 100,000 – and only slightly above record lows.
