Former JP Morgan Bullion Banker Remains Skeptical Of Gold & Silver’s Breakout

Frowning suited man with crossed arms between stacks of gold and silver bars, rising chart behind

Episode 15 of The SilverTrade Insider: The MATH Behind $16,000 GOLD!

Former Head of JPM’s Metals Desk Robert Gottlieb of Watch Gold believes until their is a durable resolution to the Iran War, PATIENCE remains the best option regarding gold & silver:

Day #2 - #Gold & #Silver rally despite crude oil climbing more than 3% today!

It’s encouraging to see gold and silver continue to rally despite another sharp move higher in crude oil.

That said, I remain cautious.
With no durable resolution yet to the Iran/Middle East conflict, geopolitical headlines continue to dominate price action and can quickly change market sentiment.

One interesting observation is that CME Gold futures trading volume remains relatively light.
Over the past five trading sessions, average daily volume has been approximately 141,500 contracts.

Lower participation means it takes less buying to push prices higher, but it also means that if the market reacts negatively to a geopolitical headline, it will likely take less selling to produce an exaggerated move to the downside.

Thin liquidity tends to amplify volatility in both directions. My view hasn’t changed. I don’t believe anyone can consistently buy the bottom or sell the top.

Markets driven by geopolitical events are notoriously headline-dependent, producing sharp intraday swings and frequent reversals.

Until there is a durable and credible resolution to the Iran conflict, I believe patience remains the best strategy. Let the market reveal its direction rather than trying to anticipate every headline.

As always, stay disciplined, stay informed, and avoid making emotional decisions during periods of heightened uncertainty.
