Martin Armstrong amid falling red charts, Iranian and Israeli flags, gold bars, and 'Middle East Debt Crisis' text

Armstrong’s Middle East warning isn’t about oil prices. It’s about DEBT, and the chain runs like this: the Gulf states borrowed enormously when Covid took oil to $6.50 a barrel. A closed Strait means they can’t sell oil. Can’t sell oil, can’t service the loans. And the defaults land, in Armstrong’s words, in “a banking crisis [that] leads right to London” (6:19, from his later SilverTrade Insider appearance).

Update, August 2026: Armstrong came on the show and put this warning in its full context. The Gulf is one of “three sovereign debt crises on the table” alongside Japan and Europe (26:21), with Japan the likeliest first crack (26:43). On the metals through all of it, his framing hasn’t moved an inch: “What they are is more of a hedge against government” (44:38). Not an inflation trade. A trust trade.

The warning above was published in May. The August interview graded it MORE serious, not less. That’s worth something.

Legendary financial and geopolitical cycle analyst Martin Armstrong is warning that the Iran War is about to trigger not just an oil crisis - but something MUCH MORE SERIOUS - a DEBT/BANKING CRISIS THAT WILL TRIGGER A FINANCIAL MELT-DOWN!!

Armstrong warns the US/ Iran war will last for the DURATION 2026, and gasoline prices in the US could pass $9 a gallon.

Armstrong says, “We are at a point where governments collapse… What we are facing is a sovereign debt crisis globally.”
