Will Judy Shelton REVALUE GOLD!?

Will Judy Shelton revalue gold?

They brought her in for a reason - is something BIG coming for gold buyers?

CapitalCosm examines reports that Judy Shelton has been brought into a position that could reshape how the United States handles its debt and gold. The discussion centers on the idea that Shelton may help create or promote U.S. Treasury Trust Bonds, also called TTBs. These would be long term instruments, potentially 50 years, that give holders the choice at maturity to take repayment in paper dollars or in a fixed amount of physical gold.

Eric Yeung, referenced in coverage of the same developments, describes the concept directly. “I see this as an American Treasury bond, or what is known as TTB. Well, that’s what she calls TTB,” he says. The bonds would effectively give investors an option on physical gold while still functioning as Treasury paper.

The video and related analysis suggest the Treasury is exploring whether these instruments could be accepted within new gold trading infrastructure, including a Chinese linked hub in Hong Kong that supports yuan denominated physical gold trading, delivery, and settlement.

Yeung argues the Treasury would likely negotiate so that the Chinese system and the Hong Kong center treat the bonds as gold equivalent. “It is likely that the U.S. Treasury will negotiate it to be linked to the gold center in Hong Kong. This means they are likely to negotiate some kind of agreement with the Chinese so that the Chinese regime in the future, and the gold center in Hong Kong and abroad, will accept these bonds as gold.” The Hong Kong facility is presented as a test site for an offshore Shanghai style gold market that could expand to other centers.

Shelton has long advocated reconnecting the dollar to gold through convertible long term Treasuries rather than a full traditional gold standard. The video frames her involvement as a signal that policymakers are considering ways to give dollar debt a gold option without requiring an immediate full revaluation of U.S. gold reserves. For gold buyers the implication is that any successful launch of such bonds, or any formal linkage to Asian physical gold markets, would increase demand for physical metal and reduce the purely paper nature of dollar liabilities.

The piece positions the development as one more step in a broader realignment in which the United States seeks to manage its debt burden while other powers build gold based trading systems outside the traditional dollar framework.
